Good Friday Reflection

As I sat reflecting upon in solitude and then sharing with my family the events of Christ’s crucifixion on what we call “Good Friday,” my thoughts churned out emotions that poured from my heart.

Head Knowledge

As a family we read from 1 Corinthians 15 where Paul lays out the simplicity of the Gospel: 1) of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, 2) that he was buried, 3) that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures

If we add to or take away from the above, we’ve wandered into Heresy and God regards the Gospel with utmost since

And solidify the veracity of this Gospel Paul reminds us “he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive.” There are witnesses to this account reading Paul’s letter that would’ve corrected the claim if false. “Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles… Last of all…he appeared also to me.”

It’s easy to read that and start checking intellectual boxes. And Paul kept reminding the reading “According to the Scripture,” all alluding to the Old Testament scripture given to Moses through Malachi – hundreds of years before Jesus was born. Check. (For further reading check out Isaiah 7, 9, and 52-53, Daniel 9, Psalm 22, just to scratch the surface.)

But again, all head knowledge. Even the people living in the day of Christ didn’t recognize his arrival based on these passages, and those who did (the Sanhedrin) were so jealous to retain their own power and standing they were willing to crush the God of Glory to save themselves. (By the way, according to Isaiah 52-53 we acknowledge this was God through the hand of men doing the crushing.)

Then we switched over to Mark 14 and 15 to get to the heart of the matter. Jesus was betrayed and brought before the council where they began to spit on him and hit him in the face in this nasty routine called “Hot hand” all the while yelling “Prophesy!” Mark omits Jesus’ being brought before Herod, who wanted to see a magic trick.

Starting in Mark 15 Jesus was brought before Pilate where he asks Jesus “Are you the King of the Jews?” Jesus cryptically answers “You have said so” (effectively Yes) and then Pilate tells Jesus he has the power to release him. From the Gospel of John, Jesus schooled him:

John 19:11 Jesus answered him, “You would have no authority over me at all unless it had been given you from above.”

Then Pilate tells the crowd he sees nothing wrong is Jesus. He’s guilty of nothing. He set about to gain Jesus’ release knowing it was “out of envy that the Chief Priests had delivered him up.” (Mark 15:10) As a Passover feast practice, he would offer to release a prisoner back to the Jews. Pilate thought “A-ha!, Barabbas.” Charles Manson of 33 A.D. I’m sure he thought they would never accept an insurrectionist, a murderer for release over Jesus. The Jewish leaders stirred up the crowd to demand Christ’s crucifixion. This crowd that was following him for the blessing he brings just days earlier was now demanding his execution. Pilate, washing his hands of the event, handed him over to be scourged, and then crucified.

Heart Knowledge

This is where my heart overrides my head knowledge.

Jesus was brought into he Governor’s palace where “THE ENTIRE ROMAN BATALLION” was brought in to Mock Jesus.

They played a purple cloak on Christ (an ancient symbol of royalty.)

They twisted together a crown of thorns and jammed it onto Jesus’ head, into his skin. (I can only imagine not blood gushing over his face and head, but the pain just from that.

They mockingly saluted and kneeled before him, spitting on and hitting him in the face while striking a stick (ESV Bible calls is “Reed”) on his head with concussive blows, further jamming the crown of thorns into his brow.

Implied in all this was the scourging: a cat of nine tails tipped with bone and iron to tear at the flesh on his back, ripping apart his skin and muscle to expose the spine and ribs below in horrific fashion.

When their fun was done, they led him out for the crucifixion. Hoisting a rough, heavy, wooden cross onto an exposed back, splinters jamming into his open wounds.

He stumbled on the way as his strength failed him as his heart beat faster and faster trying to push what little blood remained in his body. They enlisted Simon of Cyrene to carry the cross the rest of the way to Golgotha (the place of the skull, which by all appearances is still outside those very walls of Jerusalem today.)

At the 3rd hour (9am) they laid down the cross where the soldiers drove nails through his wrists and ankles to pin him to the rough wooden cross. They hoisted him up between two convicted robbers who also hurled insults on him. While passerby’s continued to mock him they cast lots to divided his clothes amongst themselves.

Along this path of the cross Jesus was offered Wine mixed with Myrrh a couple times to help deaden the pain. Jesus refused. He would endure and suffer the entire wrath of God, paying for the sins of all who would follow him.

At the 6th hour – midday when the sun is highest in the sky – darkness covered the land (Think the darkness of Exodus.) The Father abandoned his son, and Jesus was left to suffer the consequences of OUR sin. Alone. Finally after crying out “My God My God why have you forsaken me?” Jesus cried and out and breathed his last. It is finished.

Along the way one of the robbers hanging on a cross asked Jesus to remember him when Jesus came into his glory. (Luke 23:39-43). No time to get off the cross to offer any sacrifice, any indulgence, any prayer, genuflect or go to confession, or have a “Touched by the Spirit” experience or some such thing. Just a plea of desperation. Jesus’ response: “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise.”

The Temple veil separated the Holy of Holies (60 feet high, 4 inches thick) was torn in two. God rend his garments at the death of his son, and now the way to God was freely available to everyone, not just the special few Levitical Priests.

Thankfulness

I am reminded of a Sovereign Grace song (written by Pat Sczebel) called “Jesus Thank you”

Your Blood, has washed away my sins

Jesus Thank you

The Fathers wrath completely satisfied

Jesus Thank you

Once your enemy, now seated at your table

Jesus Thank you!

But I ask of you the reader. For you, Is this a simple “I acknowledge (or understand) this happened” type of ‘Thank You to Jesus?’ Or is it is heart wrenched, tearful mourning for Jesus doing that for us “Thank you?”

Even as I recounted these events in this blog post, I had a tearful breakdown along the path. I am a disgusting sinful human being – and that’s on THIS side of salvation. (Heaven forbid anyone see who I was before!) God has taken my former and even current rebellion against his perfect character, and pinned it to the cross. I am free to live for Jesus because of it.

Jesus, from the bottom of my heart, I love you.

Jesus, thank you.

The Death of Star Wars: Hollywood is out ideas

I read an article in my @ZDNet email this morning:

Star Wars is dead, Gen-Xers. Get over it

Let the past die. Kill it, if you have to. No truer words about Disney’s multi-billion dollar franchise have ever been spoken.

– By Jason Perlow @jperlow

http://www.zdnet.com/article/star-wars-is-dead-gen-xers-get-over-it/?loc=newsletter_small_thumb&ftag=TRE-03-10aaa6b&bhid=20818608928730841620316679586784

I encourage you to read the article. As a Gen-X-er myself it was a fun read. Other Gens may not give a rip. I get that.

The author’s points are:

  • Star Wars is a 70’s phenom and should just stay there.
  • The reboots don’t work – they aren’t hitting point with the current crowd of viewers.
  • Let it die.
  • To the Gen-Xers out there, it will hurt, but you’ll get over it.

Enthusiasm Exists

I think @jperlow can accurately make this point for other movie series: Terminator anyone? There are some series that should just stay in their era. Agreed.

Star Wars has been one of those cultural phenoms that has expanded past our Generation. The crop of College Hires with whom I work (a very large IT Shop in Arizona) were quite excited to see Star Wars and were all buzzing about the Thursday night opening the following Friday. Bzzz Bzzz Bzzz.

BIG GRINS on their faces and lots of reminiscing about their (okay, our) favorite scenes. Is as right in there with them. It was just like the 80’s and 90’s after large premiers – before streaming Netflix introduced us to binge watching. Or DVR allowed us to delay our viewing. Everybody saw it at the same time. This Star War Opening was just that. And the next day at work with Co-Worker kids who are the age of my oldest child was a blast as we dissected and relived the movie.

Maybe @jperlow you work from home? Work in a Bah-Humbug environment? Are you the Grinch that stole Christmas (j/k – just messing with you.)

Heck, Variety is reporting Star Wars (this American phenom) ‘Storms to $494 Million’ Worldwide. That’s not chump change for a saga you think should’ve stayed in the 70’s/80’s.

J.J. Abrams: Out with the Old, In with the New

So let me nit-pick the current Star Wars series just a bit (not a lot.)

The current Star Wars is working hard to break away from the old and move on with the new. This is the same thing J.J. Abrams did with Star Trek when he killed the planet Vulcan. I am a big fan of both franchises, and that still irritates me. (The new Star Trek movies effectively eliminates all of the Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager timelines. Grrr.) …

<SPOILER 🚨 ALERT><<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
nse to losing Han Solo in the first movie.<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
lker join Obi Wan and Yoda in the Force.<<<<<<</SPOILER 🚨 ALERT> … But the good thing this time is we don’t lose the Star Wars timeline as we did in Star Trek.

J.J. Abrams would’ve been better off setting another Enterprise, another Rebellion, in another time … much later than the one we saw in the Gen-X 70’s and 80’s.

A Basic Problem: Hollywood itself

The Writing

The Writing in Hollywood has become stale. They writers are out of ideas.

That’s why we have so many franchise reboots, Comic Book movies.

Spider-Man is in his 3 reboot itself. (I wish they would’ve stuck with Toby MacGuire a few more years rather than marching him out talking about how enthusiastic he is for someone taking his role, after having Spider man 4 canceled before it went to Production.)

This isn’t a universal point for every movie. There are obvious examples of cool movies, but a lot of it is retread themes. As I write this in Christmas Season 2017, one of the movie releases is ‘Murder on the Orient Express.’

Political Correctness

And if there are fresh ideas, they have been lost under the suffocating blanket Politically Correctness. Hollywood is trying to pretzel everything it has to appease every group:

The Kansas City Star Article Decries:“Black heroes don’t often take the big screen. So when we get a character like Finn … Unfortunately, “The Last Jedi” often makes Finn as the guy who constantly needs to be taught a lesson and wants to escape. He deserves better.”

The LA Times Article crows …

In “Star Wars: The Last Jedi,” one of the more inclusive “Star Wars” films in the franchise’s 40-year history

Good Night! You can’t win for losing. And we wonder what is happening to the writing? Well look above. And don’t forget the LGBT Crowd!

LGBTQ Respresentation

And to answer the LGBTQ-crowd, J.J. Abrams made a promise to add a Gay character to the mix. Just to keep it diverse.

First: talk about T-Boning a whole saga with something unexpected and unnecessary. (Just to make a small segment happy.)

Second: I’ve already heard people comment if that happens they’re done with Star Wars (Subject for a different blog I suppose)

Conclusion

The problem boils down to writing, and a lack of ideas because creativity has been bound in chains if trying to please too many crowds based on splintered ‘diversity.’ A good story line is secondary consideration.

This is ultimately could wind up fouling up the Star Wars franchise.

‘Diversity’ is a moving undefined target. Hollywood needs to break Free and forge ahead with interesting characters and a good plot – not just if they’re diverse. If they don’t, we are going to see one Wonderful opportunity after another suffer, and die. The Star Wars franchise is not immune.

You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.- Abraham LincolnFrom : AZQuotes.com

GOP, Trump, Alabama and 2018 Elections

I will try to make this short, sweet-n-sour, and to the point: The Alabama outcome gives nothing to indicate the direction of 2018 Elections.

This National Review Article/blog by Theodore Kupfer is drawing this response from me.

Alabama Was an Early Warning for Senate Republicans

Roy Moore’s defeat in Alabama makes it abundantly clear that all else is not equal. Moore was a uniquely terrible candidate, so there is a danger in reading too much into his defeat. Yet a surge of turnout among black voters and a swing to the left from suburban white women helped propel Doug Jones to victory, just as they propelled Ralph Northam to victory in the Virginia gubernatorial race. That trend, however incipient, has to worry Republicans.

So does the eroding support for the GOP among the rest of the electorate. Democrats lead by ten points on the generic congressional ballot, a reality check for a party that was hoping to clean up in states Trump won,

There it is. End of opinion. “so there is a danger in reading too much into his defeat”

A Path to Defeat

1. Steve Bannon came out and announced a war against the Establishment GOP (who, along with Establishment Democrats are the real threat to our country). He backed Roy Moore.

2. The Establishment got in gear:

  • Mitch McConnell withdrew all Senatorial support from Moore.
Even Threatening to kick him out of the Senate if he got elected – a “screw you Alabama, your voice doesn’t count maneuver)
  • They cajoled multiple women to accuse Moore of wrong-doing.
40 years old accusations! Not proof or indictment. Where’s this been all along?
One even had the audacity to fake a year book message from Roy. (Shows how weak was the case)

3. Roy Moore did that horrible interview with Sean Hannity where he hemmed and hawed about if he did or didn’t.

4. It was pointed out Roy Moore was a horrible candidate.

I’m sure there’s more, but as an Arizona citizen looking in on Alabama, I agree: “so there is a danger in reading too much into his defeat”

The Establishment is Threatened

So Theo (or is it Ted) – the author of the article – turns his attention towards humble Arizona fretting over the outcome here.

National Review is well known Never-Trumpers.

Jeff Flake is a well known Never-Trumper.

I can see where NR and Ted are concerned about old Flake’s seat. Another Establishment Never-Trumper bites the dust. So Flake has to stand up and act as if he’s stepping down out of conscience.

Nope.

He’s stepping down cuz he’s gone get his butt kicked by a Trump supporter. And he doesn’t want to get embarrased. Or maybe he wants to retain his “I’m a credible ‘Trump-basher’ card.”

He’ll then make all his rounds on every news and cable-news network that is anti-Trump (which is pro-Democrat/Liberal) and bash Trump and real-conservatives who disagree with him. Ohhhhh the Establishment hates disagreement with their opinions. They will shut you down in the grandest of Fascist tradition.

These Establishment guys will do any-thing to show they are down for the Establishment-Struggle and to stay in that Establishment club.

Remember Flake symbolically giving to Doug Johnson in Alabama?

What a Treacherous Jack!

GOP May Face Establishment Backlash in 2018

The only people / party in danger this 2018 Election cycle is the Establishment.

Oddly enough, looking for an article ‘image’ to use I encounter Neil Covuto from Fox News Business discussing this very thing in his segment:
https://youtu.be/mEz0oOJ7Yxc

People are in for a BIG surprise next year. More Patriotism -even on the back of this “so-called” Populism.

This will surprise the myopic establishment types:

  • Jeff Flake
  • Erik Erickson
  • Evan McMullin
  • Mitch McConnell
  • The author Ted from ==> National Review

The GOP will hold the government.

The Establishment will lose more seats.

Dear Abbey: Un-Thanksgiving Day

#TakeAStand against NFL Players #TakeAKnee

After having an awesome ThanksgivingI tweeted this out:

My brother is a @{county} sheriff Deputy. He’s had coworkers/friend killed by bad guys. The @NFL players are dissing people like them. #NotCool #TakeAStand not #TakeAKnee

This always reposts to facebook to which a friend replied:

No they aren’t … You know there is bias. … People have the right to protest in any way they feel. It is not disrespecting your brother and colleagues. It has been a disrespectful system all over the US in general. They are trying to enact change and give a voice to their frustrations without violence and without inciting violence. I would say it’s very American and very respectful. We do not pledge allegiance to officers. We pledge it to our flag and the laws of the land.

My Long replies qualify as blog posts.

“Un-Thanksgiving Day”

Notice how the unraveling of our society started (in the ‘60s) when our country’s 1950’s “Fathers” deemed it right to eject God from the society (more on that below) – which has been going on ever since.

God has started handing us over to our depravity and setting us up to be carried off to our Babylon for our sins just like he did his people Israel and Judah so long ago. We are living in a chaotic, demonic day. I am sad for it.

Whether its the community in fear (from people whipping up the fear), or the Police/deputies the object of that fear: Not caring about the people involved on either side is it’s own form of bigotry and prejudice. Folks like my brother are just working middle-class with families to feed and shelter. It is absolutely disrespecting them:

  • Kaep wearing pig socks and kneeling (He set the tone for exactly what this is all about)
  • NFL game in London, players standing for the English National anthem (the founders of the biggest grievance, slavery and prejudice) while kneeling for the US (who banished it)Going to Mexico and doing the same thing (Marshawn Lynch)

I prefer Richard Sherman’s take from last year: Stop protesting and Do Something about it. He’s proactively working with people to teach them how to respond to police to avoid an incident {It’s own commentary about the people}

Protesting is not “American.” That’s an amorphism Liberals on TV and colleges/schools have pushed and others bought into. Fleeing religious persecution, Revolution, war, being an honorable person and honoring God (up until the Bible was deemed unconstitutional to be taught in schools in the 50’s.) That has been uniquely American – until the last 50 or so years. But the God of the Universe is no longer welcome among this people.

We have become ungrateful, selfish, and uncaring towards each other. This whole NFL #TakeAKnee / Anger in the black community thing is a symptom. And The police are not a cause. It’s the darkness in the human heart and trying to live without God.

We Live in Crazy Times

I have a Facebook friend, a former co-worker from the 90’s for whom I’ve had (and continue to have) great respect. Always down the middle never banking Left or Right (like I do sometimes) with his social observations. He was always like that in person.

Today I saw his post where he was a voice crying out in the wilderness about the craziness and ugliness we see in today’s world, The question was a heart cry of getting the message of forgiveness out so we can stop this madness.

I would like to share what I wrote back to him, and it centers on a John MacArthur message “Forgiveness in the Age of Rage”, given September 8 2017. (I believe this was in response to Charlottesville, Virginia protests that turned violent.)

My Response:

Hey friend, the first thing I’ve had to personally recognize – I can’t control anyone but myself. Also if I believe God is completely in control, I have to give it all over to him in prayer (Philippians 4:6-7) and not be anxious.

I personally believe God is bringing judgement to us due to our corporate (meaning country-wide population) sins. It greatly saddens me. People are going for bad to worse. Only Jesus can stop this train if he chooses.

My only actions (and I believe anyone who follows Christ) I am diligently bathing my family’s hearts in God’s Word, standing (hopefully not fighting) for the truth, and being forgiving and gracious.

Bless you brother. Don’t let your heart be troubled. Trust in the one whom God sent – Jesus.

Christian Church, You have been Squirrelled

Ping-Pong

There is a lot of back and forth that happens on Social Media: Facebook, Twitter, the Like. It’s bad enough that people on the same side wind up biting and devouring each other, and particularly the Christian Community.

Now I’m not going to get all Ecumenical on you and call that Catholics and Evangelicals should agree (its the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation for Heaven’s sake!) nor that something like the Redding Bethel Church and John MacArthur come to a truce. Gospel purity is the issue. No backing down.

But recently I’ve seen too many direct or indirect posts about Christians saying something about President Donald Trump, a reply comes, and then people who call themselves brothers jump all over each other in what I reference to be a Ping Pong match. Back-and-Forth Back-and-Forth. And when one person thinks they’ve scored the other person blows them off. And vice verse.

I want to call our attention to Ephesians 5:

15 Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. 18 And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit, 19 addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart, 20 giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, 21 submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ.

I love that line about addressing one another in Psalms, hymns, Spiritual songs making melody to the Lord with your heart – submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ.

I don’t see a lot of that going on. As I said, its more biting and devouring of one another.

Church – You have been Squirreled.

I will call it out: This is a demonic distraction.

If people who don’t know Jesus or His Gospel – or maybe even disdain it for one reason or another (out of the inbred Humility within the Human Race) – we are not doing anything with our public face to make Jesus look good. We first want to make ourselves look good, then maybe Jesus. But we definitely want to make the other person , even a brother in Christ, look like an idiot.

This is internal pride, spurred on by a constant onslaught of 24-hour #FakeNews cycle combined with an epidemic of Snow-Flake-itis where Emotions, not reason, rule our direction. [All networks, even Fox are guilty of making the camera paint an inaccurate picture.]

But these light and momentary tribulations (and seriously folks, as stupid as it gets in the US, we don’t know what REAL Government/society imposed Tribulation is) are not worth the eternal glory that will be revealed when we stand before Jesus.

Our True Focus

Don’t try to make yourself look great. He must increase. YOU must decrease. Make Jesus look good in how you treat each other – in person AND online. And let’s start talking and engaging one about about what you are learning or how you are growing in the Lord. Not just about your latest favorite political point.

Peace. Out.

Anthem protests and Presidential Commentary

President Trump waded more into commenting on our cultural rot this last week tweeting NFL Players should stand for our flag.

In addition he called these protestors “S.O.B.’s” – NOT presidential. That comment should have stayed locked away in his heart. He needs to work on that part of his communication skills because it has overshadowed the real reason he has been pushing back. The anthem-protest kneeling and fists in the air, and the general tearing down and disrespecting of our country.

So today the NFL teams responded in force:

  • In England today, the Jaguars and the Ravens had players kneeling for the American Anthem, but standing for the British ‘God Save the Queen” (On Foreign Soil!)
  • The Pittsburgh Steelers and Seattle Seahawk Players stayed in their locker rooms
  • @ESPN on Sunday evening had nothing but interviews with this theme: Trump Sucks, Anthem Protests are Great

We’ve Been Here Before

I remember President George H.W. Bush back in the 1992 Presidential Campaign, running against Bill Clinton, President GHWB said we need to be more like the Waltons (or Leave it to Beaver) and less like The Simpsons. Ohhh TV had a field day with that one. The Simpson’s that season even had an episode featuring that quote (before the end of the campaign) with the cartoon family reacting. Here is a quick article i found with info. (Read through the following as quickly or slowly as you wish, bit you get the flavor.)

That didn’t go well. Bush Lost. I think this heaped on.

Trump’s Comments aren’t going well – because the media has a really big bull horn, they are liberal, and have been slamming the country for years. It’s become shrill since President Trump is in office.

The Stakes are Much Higher Now

I quote scripture frequently in my quotes because there is some common sense to be found in the foundation of God’s Word. Romans 13, penned by the Apostle Paul, tells us to show respect and honor to whom it is due.

“Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.

Pay to all what is owed to them: taxes to whom taxes are owed, revenue to whom revenue is owed, respect to whom respect is owed, honor to whom honor is owed.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭13:1, 7‬ ‭ESV‬‬

http://bible.com/59/rom.13.1,7.esv

Our Country, our Flag, our Governing authorities, and on down the line, are all being disrespected. As for our governing authorities, they have been acting quite disrespectful / despicable themselves. Here comes Donald Trump calling them out (his Tweets and Communication Style could use a little work) as us Country-Folk love to hear, and these “targets” double down.

Trump is desiring to pull out the best in America, talking up America, defending the best of her traditions and customs. The Flag is one of them. He has waded (again) into cultural controversy. But the only controversy comes for the angry leftists who blame America first for everything. No exaggeration.

The Disrespectful, in their arrogance, become even more-so, encouraging others to join them.

The Media esteems these “Disrespectful’s” as being the moral equivalent of Gahndi or Martin Luther King Jr.

Then protests ensue as these folks are participating in a great tradition (of protest) in our country. Nothing great about protest, and its not part of our tradition. It’s part of our national sin and disgrace.

This will be the ultimate demise of this country and the freedoms we enjoy. Trump speaking out against this bad behavior is providing the needed contrast. But unfortunately our country citizens have chosen to see this as a reason to abuse the President, not take heed and respect what he is observing.

Love the Unloveable

I have a person I follow on Twitter who offered up this:

If you think you love this country but do not value the people in it, what is it exactly that you love?

Turn that question around and ask – what do YOU love. It ain’t love for me and my freedom to have an opposing view. You just want to turn around on me for being unloving of others for daring to love this country and defend it against unfair attack.

We who don’t like the protests have to suck it up and show love to the poor oppressed millionaires.

They can crap on us all day long with their disrespectful display, but the obligation is on those who love the country.

That’s a steaming pile of wreaking hypocrisy.

  • “Do as I say, not as I do’
  • Or as the soft headed would say, “Do as they say, and just love them, understand them.”

I don’t mind the last sentiment – that is almost getting into Jesus’ territory where we consider others better than ourselves (our culture de-emphasizes truth in favor of emotions and feelings, no matter how Evil) What I do mind is I am lectured to do this … over and over and over again. I even learned this past weekend I am part of a demonized group: WEC – White Evangelical Christian. They forgot one more Category that makes me on the wrong side of every issue. Male. WMEC?

These professors should do more practicing and less preaching. I have yet to see one of these angry people (or the “reasonable” soft-headed types) come to the defense of an “opposing voice”, tell others they should love people like myself. Nope. #Hypocrites.

So dear @NFL and you liberals in general:

  • You don’t care about me – and my feelings that the Nation that enabled you to be great
  • You don’t love me – even in disagreement we should have a reasonable dialogue, not your anger and double standard demands.
  • You definitely don’t show deference to me – you think all thought is your liberal thought and everything else should be quieted (that is called Fascism)

So while I am still free in this country quickly trying to get rid of its freedoms, I am choosing to take a Knee and Stay in the Locker Room for your product. I will watch something else. Because President Trump is right (except calling them S.O.B.s – Communication skills issue) – you should be looking to either STOP these obnoxious displays “on the field” or FIRE these people.

But you will sit in your echo chamber talking about how bigoted, prejudicial, sexist, and lacking in love I am. Because I’m a WMEC who voted for Trump. And I’ll do it again.

And if this crap doesn’t shape up, after 30+ years being a 49er fan dating back to Joe Montana/Dwight Clark/ Ronnie Lott (the MAN by the way!) you can bet I won’t buy your product again.

James Damore takes on Google’s Thought Police

I was finally able to read fired Google Employee's James Damore's entire 10 page opinion piece .

Previously, like most, I was left to the Left leaning pieces (who just wanted to beat up on James) or the Right leaning pieces (who culturally scared of their own shadow and will run away from any fight.) Both showed snippets and then provided gave their synopsis which left out a lot of substance. The whole document (although 10 MS Word formatted pages) doesn't take too long to read and you have to read it to get the full view.

UK Daily Mail provided some decent reporting (just the facts) but then gave the whole document to read at the end.

See the article and document here.

James Damore ideologically martyred himself to take on what he calls the Google Ideological echo chamber.

He focused on sameness thru Diversity which opposes success and advancement through meritocracy by abilities. He noted Googles admitted lack of female leadership in the upper ranks (something Google laments) but gave a very reasoned argument why this is the case. His statements of biology are not crazy or necessarily out of the bounds of reason.

From his footnotes:

7: Communism promised to be both morally and economically superior to capitalism, but every attempt became morally corrupt and an economic failure. As it became clear that the working class of the liberal democracies wasn't going to overthrow their 'capitalist oppressors,' the Marxist intellectuals transitioned from class warfare to gender and race politics. The core oppressor-oppressed dynamics remained, but now the oppressor is the 'white, straight, cis-gendered patriarchy.'

9: Yes, in a national aggregate, women have lower salaries than men for a variety of reasons . For the same work though, women get paid just as much as men. Considering women spend more money than men and that salary represents how much the employee sacrifices (e.g. more hours, stress, and danger), we really need to rethink our stereotypes around power.

Minus the more subjective-opinion statement of women spending more than men, his last statement about needing rethink Stereotypes around power is a siren call. It is a call that sends the thought-police into a tizzy because accusing people of violating diversity (not thinking correctly) is their only tool. (See George Orwell, 1984.)

I found it a well thought out and reasoned piece.

It's only sexist because he dared take on the thought police.
